Hi All! I was thinking I'd liek to join like a sort of blindies discussion about anythign and everything, kind of like the boards here only via E-Mail list? I know if I search for "Blind" on Yahoo! Groups I'll find a lot, but can any of you think of any cool ones in particular? Like, good ones, that are clean, and fun, and maybe with blindies and-or sighties.Anyone have any ideas?

We need more criteria: high traffic or low traffic, tech or non-tech related, demographic of posters (students, senior citizens, etc). Here are just a few ideas: Hands Around the World, the ACB and NFB student lists, Blind Students of California, the LCA discussion list, and a bunch of generic blind lists which you can find at http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/

There is a comprehensive list somewhere, but I don't have the link in front of me. Check out www.accesstechnologyinstitute.com

Thanks Sam. Well, I don't really care if it's high traffic or low traffic. I'm most interested in one without so much techy stuff, though there could be some. Just general discussions. I don't care about ages, thoguh otehr students woudl be nice. Thanks I'll definitely check out these links.

Probably one of the more popular lists out there is blind-friends on Yahoogroups. I've been on and off it and I warn you, it's pretty high traffic. I'm not sure what the latest moderators are like on that list as I haven't been there in months. I'm not sure if light chatter is encouraged or if you can bring up heavier topics without fear of being blasted or ignored. Give it a test drive, though, and see what you think. You'll want to set up a filter and folder in your e-mail just so all the traffic can go into a folder.
